CorSport: No messing around as Milan get the job done and extend their lead

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan managed to overcome their bottom-half struggles last night as they saw out a 1-0 win against Empoli, which could prove to be decisive in the end. After all, the only thing that counts now is getting the three points.

Pierre Kalulu was the big hero as he opened the scoring with a lovely left-footed effort in the first half. He was also decisive in defence, as well as Fikayo Tomori, and Milan really didn’t suffer that much overall.

As highlighted by Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan didn’t any mistakes this time out in what was a tough game. Kalulu’s strike, his first at San Siro, saved them from another bitter night but that’s all that matters.

The Rossoneri got the job done and as the newspaper points out, the only thing that matters in games like this is getting the win. Their attack may not have been spectacular, but their defensive display was really impressive and they’re five points clear at the top thanks to that. Will it be just temporary? We’ll see.
