CorSport: Pioli hoping to have four absent players back by Roma game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli should welcome back four crucial pieces by Sunday’s game against Roma, according to a report.

Today’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) have given an update on the status of Milan’s injured players and informs their readers that Pioli could recover four players by the end of this week.

Ante Rebic has now disposed of the pain in his ankle and – after having skipped the trip to Bologna as a precaution – he should be called up for the match against Torino tomorrow night. Striker Pietro Pellegri had to miss the game at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara due to some inflammation, but he trained with the squad yesterday and should therefore be ok to face Torino too.

Then attention will turn to the trip to the capital at the weekend, and Pioli hopes that Alessandro Florenzi will be back as he is close to a full recovery after the meniscus surgery. He would likely only be fit enough to start on the bench.

Finally there is Brahim Diaz who tested positive for Covid back on October 15 and should be negative either tomorrow or Wednesday as per the paper, so the game at Roma on 31 October is in the sights.
