CorSport: Pioli and Milan rally around Pulisic after winger receives threats

By Oliver Fisher -

The fall-out from AC Milan’s win over Lazio on Friday night continues, and Christian Pulisic was the recipient of some disgusting messages on social media.

There was a huge flashpoint in the 57th minute when Lazio were reduced to 10 men. Castellanos went down after losing out in a challenge with Bennacer and Pellegrini attempted to let the ball roll out for a throw-in, but Pulisic stole the ball and he was ragged down as he threatened to run away.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) report this morning, Pulisic was the subject of numerous attacks on social media yesterday and for this reason the club has decided to defend the American.

Yesterday afternoon, the club’s message of solidarity arrived as they published a photo of the American with the caption ‘At your side’, morally supporting Pulisic after the attacks he suffered.

The Roman newspaper then told a background story on what happened after the wave of indignation from the Biancocelesti fans. Coach Stefano Pioli also sent a private message of sympathy, to show all the solidarity towards a player who did the right thing.

The same initiative was taken by his team-mates who, both privately and publicly, rallied around the former Chelsea man to show support.
