CorSport: Pochettino could be Milan’s surprise after Chelsea exit – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

It cannot be ruled out that there might yet be a twist in the tale when it comes to who will be the next head coach of AC Milan, with Mauricio Pochettino now linked.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), it does seem at present that Paulo Fonseca is the leading candidate to take over from Stefano Pioli, who will lead the team for the final time tonight against Salernitana.

However, the paper does not rule out surprises given that the contract has not yet been signed. Lille have offered him a contract renewal and for now the 51-year-old has asked for time, waiting for Milan but also evaluating his options.

Until there are signatures on the contracts there is always room for possible twists, and in this sense Mauricio Pochettino’s name might well be circulating in the offices of Casa Milan at present. He is free to coach another club after leaving Chelsea on Tuesday.

The Argentine is a profile that corresponds to what Milan are looking for given his style of play, the way he develops young players and his experience, so he could become a more concrete option. However, we must add that he was on a big salary at Chelsea, one the Rossoneri would not match.

    1. No, the editors of this site report every rubbish that flies around make we the users of the site confused.

Everything reported here should be as legitimate as it seems or at least close to legitimate but no Everything is copied and pasted here to confuse everyone and leave us with nothing to believe, it’s a shame.

  1. Reading the original article, this seems to just be speculation from the editors of CorSport. No sources are mentioned in the article.

I mean I would also like to have Poch, but that doesn’t make it likely that will actually arrive.

I’m still pretty sure that Fonseca is the new coach as multiple sources have reported this.

  2. Fans must not act like fools: the ‘circus’ does not belong to Milan, RedBird etc., but rather to the media clowns, who in the age of internet, of information transmitted in real time 24 hours a day, are in a desperate need to produce endless amounts of hearsay, rumors and speculation to fill time and space, that’s all. The board obviously has a plan in mind and is acting accordingly, only, as is the nature of strategic processes, it does not reveal its intentions until everything is agreed.

  3. There is a lot of media clowns nowadays, yes. However, I’d like the particular clown regarding this rumor to be right.
