CorSport: Probable XIs for Juventus vs. Milan – the choices of Allegri and Pioli

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head to Turin to face Juventus on Sunday knowing that they are one win away from sealing a return to the Champions League.

Today’s edition of Il Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) talks about the probable choices that Max Allegri and Stefano Pioli will make for the game, which could be Juve’s last chance to salvage hopes of a top four spot after their points deduction.

Juan Cuadrado and captain Danilo are back, but Mattia De Sciglio, Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli are all out for the rest of the season. Leonardo Bonucci trained partially with the squad yesterday and will try to recover.

Allegri is waiting to understand if Dusan Vlahovic will recover as he has a tendon problem, with the two selection battles between Di Maria and Chiesa for the right striker spot and Milik versus Kean for the other.

Probable Juventus XI (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Cuadrado, Miretti, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Di Maria, Milik.

Milan meanwhile are expected to field the strongest team they can, with Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic in the midfield together, and Malick Thiaw over Simon Kjaer partnering Fikayo Tomori at centre-back.

The only doubt is on the right side of the attacking trident, where either Alexis Saelemaekers or Junior Messias will play. The list of absences includes Ismael Bennacer, Alessandro Florenzi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez, Tonali, Krunic; Messias, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

  1. How many disasterclasses does Messias have to produce to go back where he belongs, on the bench ?

I’ve had more than enough with this one-dimensial player

    1. Yea mate, it looks like pioli wish to have balanced speed for both flanks. But like you said messias is a one dimensional winger, his dribbling speed only useful in counter attack
