AC Milan will address the contact renewal with captain Alessio Romagnoli soon, a report claims, but Barcelona are waiting at the door.
As Friday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport reports (via MilanLive) today on newsstands, it will be necessary to keep Romagnoli for the future and Milan are aware of this.
He has provided consistency on the field and with his contract expiring in 2022, it is worth being proactive so as not to have a repeat of the current situation regarding Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Romagnoli, as well as being fundamental, has also proved to be immovable and a workaholic, having taken part in all of the last 32 official matches.
The paper adds that Juventus have been on his trail for a while now with Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci ageing, but Barcelona are the club whose pressing is becoming increasingly significant.
The problem is Mino Raiola who will probably try to convince Romagnoli to try another challenge and test himself at a more ambitious and successful club. However the bond between Romagnoli and Milan is strong, so with a solid project the club could convince him.
Romagnoli’s renewal would send an important message in view of the future, but above all it will give confidence to the current squad that there is a vision in place.
