CorSport: Rebic asked to leave in January but now wants permanent deal – Milan hold a trump card

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have an important card to play in negotiations to sign Ante Rebic on a permanent deal this summer, according to a report.

After struggling up until the Christmas period Rebic has since exploded, scoring eight goals in all competitions since the turn of the year including seven in his last seven Serie A starts.

The Croatia international joined last summer on a two-year loan from Eintracht Frankfurt with Milan striker Andre Silva going the other way on the same terms, and he is also going through a purple patch in Germany having scored 15 goals in all competitions this term.

According to il Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday (via MilanLive), all the signs point in favour of Rebic remaining beyond his two-year loan.

The player himself also wants to stay after asking his agent in January to cut his loan short following a difficult first few months at San Siro, and this summer Milan will try and negotiate a deal.

The club will do so knowing that it has an ace up its sleeve in André Silva, a player with whom the Eintracht leadership are equally satisfied and who also aims for a permanent stau. In short, there are all the prerequisites for everyone to come out happy.
