CorSport: Scuffet and Cagliari ‘not convinced’ by Milan’s offer – the details

With Marco Sportiello injured, AC Milan have taken to the market to browse some opportunities, and Simone Scuffet had arisen as a potential candidate, but it seems a deal will not be done.

Milan’s luck with injuries in the past 12 months, and beyond, has been almost comical, and the bad comedy extended with Sportiello’s freak injury. The goalkeeper suffered a cut to his hand before the Rossoneri’s friendly against Manchester City, and he will face a few months on the sidelines.

With this in mind, the Diavolo then had two solutions. Either source a replacement from the mercato, or look to the youth setup, and the latter option has seemed the increasing preferred option with Lorenzo Torriani impressing heavily in pre-season.

The alternate option came in the form of Simone Scuffet, but it seems this option could be off the table after a report from Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News) revealed that the goalkeeper and his club, Cagliari, are not convinced by Milan’s proposal.

Originally, the Diavolo had the idea of taking the goalkeeper on loan, with a boosted salary, but the offer has not convinced either party, least so Scuffet, who does not want to leave a starting jersey to play second fiddle.
