CorSport: Seven Roma players including Dybala will miss Milan encounter

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are not the only ones dealing with a significant amount of absences. Their next opponents, namely Roma, will arrive at San Siro without some very important players. Paulo Dybala is one of them, a report highlights.

Milan need to clinch all three points against the Giallorossi on Sunday, following the disappointing defeat against Atalanta mid-week. A win would certainly make the top-four race a bit more comfortable, but another defeat would change the situation a lot.

Fortunately for the Rossoneri, Roma are also dealing with quite a few absences. According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, the likes of Abraham, Aouar, Azmoun, Dybala, Ndicka, Sanches and Smalling will be missing tomorrow.

Dybala’s injury is not as bad as initially feared, but he will not make it back in time to face the Rossoneri. Aouar, Azmoun and Ndicka are on international duty for the AFCON, evening out the absence of Bennacer and Chukwueze for Milan.

The game is scheduled for 20:45 CET and San Siro is sold out, meaning there should be a great atmosphere. Milan will also reach the important milestone of 1m spectators at San Siro for this season, which is indeed impressive.

  1. Azmoun for the AFCON!? He is Iranian, and on the Asian Cup. He makes an attacking pair with a familiar player. Mehdi Tarimi! The player that Milan missed! Next year we will see him on a free transfer at Inter. And he will shine, like Marcus Thuram.

  2. Every time the opponent has half of the starting 11 on injury list they make Milan suffer. Especially when the opponent is a bottom-table team (which Roma isn’t so I guess that’s good).

With such players (+ Mourinho) missing, it should be much easier task. But that’s only on paper and watch and see Milan making this match as hard as possible – for us I mean. It will be a horror show. Again.
