CorSport: Spurs and Milan reach agreement over fee for €28m striker – the main obstacle

By Oliver Fisher -

Spurs and AC Milan have reached an agreement on the valuation of striker Krzysztof Piatek, a report claims, but there is still a major obstacle.

The Poland international continues to be heavily linked with an exit in the final few days of the window having lost his sport in the starting XI to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Rafael Leao. A move to the Premier League remains the most talked about solution.

It was reported by Goal earlier today that Piatek wants a move to Tottenham after being ‘impressed with the offer they put to him’. Sport.pl reported that Jose Mourinho had a video call with the striker yesterday morning, in an attempt to convince him to join the club.

Goal add that Chelsea and Manchester United had also been offered Piatek by agent Pini Zahavi, while he has also rejected a move to Roma.

According to il Corriere dello Sport – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan and Spurs have agreed on Piatek’s valuation of €28million. The problem however lies in the fact that the Spurs want to include a counterpart in the deal in order to bring down the cash price, something that is not appreciated by Boban and Maldini.
