CorSport: Spurs warned about €23m price tag as Milan could abandon pursuit

By Isak Möller -

After another season without Champions League, Milan are preparing some reinforcements. They have identified in Serge Aurier as the ideal replacement for the right-back position, a report claims.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via Milanlive.it), new contacts will take place today with the player’s entourage to take stock of the situation. Tottenham’s price tag has been set at €22-23m, but Milan are hoping to get a discount.

Aurier has already made it clear that he’s open to the move. After Ligue 1 and Premier League, he also sees an experience in Serie A as positive. At almost 28 years, he has a lot of experience and would be able to slot right in the starting eleven.

Furthermore, the relationship with José Mourinho isn’t at its best, and thus the Ivorian has given the go-ahead to his agents to deal with Milan. A lot will depend on Tottenham, as they need to lower the price tag.

Should they stand firm on their demands, then the Rossoneri will turn to PSV captain Denzel Dumfries, who has a price tag of €18m.
