CorSport: Taremi and Ekitike top the list as Milan’s striker hunt continues

AC Milan are ‘ready to get serious’ in order to give Stefano Pioli a new striker and complete the attacking department, a report claims.

According to what Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) are reporting this morning, Mehdi Taremi is one of the targets Milan are looking at but €20m would be needed to sign him, even though his deal runs out in 10 months.

The Iranian centre-forward is on a short list that also includes Ekitike from Paris Saint-Germain, meaning there are two complex negotiations running parallel with little time left.

From Paris, what filters is that they will only accept a permanent deal for Ekitike and therefore no loan formula will be considered, which could force Milan to turn to Taremi.

However, the €20m requested by the Portuguese club is too high, already lowered compared to the initial request of €30m. The Rossoneri management will therefore try to lower the price of the 31-year-old.

For the Rossoneri, the signing of a striker is important to be able to have Noah Okafor as Rafael Leao’s deputy and have a striker who can take the place of Giroud, while Lorenzo Colombo would be loaned out.
