CorSport: Thiaw now showing his qualities for Germany – Milan’s €7m deal a bargain

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could well now have another established international after Malick Thiaw impressed during his first start for Germany.

This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes how Germany lost their friendly against Poland on Friday night, but Thiaw still had an excellent game and kept Robert Lewandowski quiet in the middle of a three-man defence.

It is above all thanks to Milan that Thiaw was able to fulfil his dream of making his debut from the first minute with the shirt of the senior national team of Germany.

He played 87 minutes in the game against Poland in Warsaw, and despite the loss it was a memorable game and he has been praised by all corners of the media for the maturity that he displayed.

Thiaw was the happy note of a bad evening for Germany with Hansi Flick and Antonio Rudiger expressing praise. It is looking more and more like the Rossoneri’s purchase of the centre-back from Schalke 04 for around €7m was and is a bargain.

    1. LOL. Ya @Boulden Thiaw was all Moncada BUT the rest of the players Moncada scouted and picked were Maldini’s fault LOLOLOLOLOLO🤪🤪🤪

      1. From what I’ve seen so far….Moncada good Maldini bad 😂. And they’ve done a good job I just say hammering home that so much that even now u see it in the comments section

  1. On the video call meeting with Maldini and Massara:
“I learned about it shortly before from my agent. I was agitated, but Paolo was kind and reassured me. He had followed me from before and so I was happy.”
“As sporting director, he watches every training session. He knows exactly in which areas I need to improve and what I’m already doing well. He passes that on to me, and I’m very grateful for it.”

But yeah, I always believe it’s more of a team effort, not individual. So let’s not be like those one-sided double-standard kids who always blame one party if something goes wrong and credit other party if something goes right.

  2. Actually every milan players was close to Pioli and Maldini. Hes former milan player and its legendary for italian football. Like or dislike his experience and aura can make it easy, especially for milan defenders. Or at least rudiger can retired so softly and relax. I guess…

  3. When it went bad is Maldini not anyone right, now that is good is not Maldini @Boulen right, up ac milan all the time then❤️

  4. If he was in barca or real he’d already be valued at 50M after half a year of good performance. Funny how this works, right?

  5. The two sides (Maldini lovers and Maldini haters) should be objective. Pioli, Maldini, Massara, and Moncada should share both the praise and the blame.

    1. That kind of sensible talk doesn’t belong here. Just a a bit and this one kid comes along to call you a donkey. 😉
