CorSport: Three options for Pioli to replace Chukwueze after untimely injury

Just when it seemed that Milan had reached the finish line of the international break without any physical problems, Samuel Chukwueze sustained a hamstring injury.

Not only that, but as Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) confirm Stefano Pioli will be without the winger for around a month, meaning he will not be back until after the November international break.

Christian Pulisic has nailed down the starting spot on the right side but given that Milan play six games in the next month there will be the need to rotate to keep everyone fresh, and now Chukwueze is not available it raises some questions.

The natural replacement is Luka Romero who, after making his debut against Cagliari, could have some more significant opportunities in the coming weeks.

Alternatively, Noah Okafor could also be moved to the right or Yunus Musah could play further forward, in a role that he played more often at the beginning of his career and had a flashback to in the win over Hellas Verona where he was a right wing-back.

Pioli could also decide to redesign the formation if absolutely necessary, with further signs awaited from the training sessions to follow.
