CorSport: Two potential issues emerge in Milan’s pursuit of Chelsea striker Giroud

Olivier Giroud has been heavily linked with Milan in the last few weeks, despite the recent renewal with Chelsea. However, the negotiations have turned out to be very tricky and two things, in particular, worry the Rossoneri.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), regardless of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s surgery, the strategy will remain roughly the same. An experienced striker and a young striker could arrive this summer.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are hoping to close the deal for Giroud very soon and there is confidence in this regard. However, the Frenchman will have to free himself from Chelsea as Milan don’t want to pay a fee for him.

Then there is another issue, related to the ongoing Euros. Should France go a long way in the tournament, then Giroud would join his new club late and work little with his new teammates ahead of the upcoming season.
