AC Milan have struggled to find the back of the net in the last few games, registering three consecutive 1-0 wins before the 0-0 draw against Bologna. The defence, meanwhile, is keeping the Rossoneri in the Scudetto race.
As highlighted by Corriere Dello Sport (via SempreMilan) this morning, the Kalulu-Tomori pairing has become unbeatable at the back. Milan have kept a clean sheet in five consecutive games (all comps), showing just how well the defence is working.
Kalulu’s breakthrough this spring has certainly helped Milan get out of a sticky situation, amid the injuries of Alessio Romagnoli and especially Simon Kjaer. In fact, as the report continues, his performances changed the Rossoneri’s January strategy, initially fully set on signing a centre-back.
The fact is that it would be difficult for Romagnoli to get his starting spot back, also because his physical condition isn’t 100%. The Kalulu-Tomori pairing clearly works and Pioli will hardly change it now, with so much on the line in the Scudetto race.
