CorSport: A Weah returns to San Siro – Tim will play at his father George’s house

By Oliver Fisher -

It has been a long time coming, but a Weah will take to the field at San Siro once again on Sunday night, albeit playing against AC Milan for Juventus.

Timothy Weah, as Il Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes, arrives for the first time at San Siro, the stage where his father George played a leading role for a long time, scoring many goals and becoming one of Milan’s stars in the 1990s,

Two Scudetti, 58 goals scored, a Ballon d’Or raised to the skies and many memories made: George forged his legacy in the red and black and now Tim will now have his first experience at San Siro in a very difficult match.

For now the USA international has not made much of a mark since his summer move from Lille but Max Allegri seems ready to put faith in him to start at right wing-back.

In the national team, Weah played 155 minutes in the two friendlies against Germany and Ghana over the break and was a protagonist in the match against the latter.

The wide man won a penalty, converted by Christian Pulisic ironically, and provided Folarin Balogun with the assist for the third of the four USA goals.

As mentioned, Weah should again be the starter on the right side in Juventus’ 3-5-2 formation, and he faces a big test in the stadium his father called home.
