AC Milan are looking to complete the attacking department with another striker and Tammy Abraham has been heavily linked with the club in recent days. According to a report, the Rossoneri are now pushing for a loan formula in the talks with Roma.
As things stand, Paulo Fonseca will have Alvaro Morata and Luka Jovic at his disposal for the No.9 role once the season gets underway. However, it seems Milan are aiming to sign one more striker before the end of the transfer window to complete the department.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), talks between Milan and Tammy Abraham’s entourage are ‘continuous’. The Rossoneri initially proposed a swap deal of sorts to Roma, who are asking for €25-30m for a permanent transfer, but the talks have now shifted to a loan formula.
Of course, this is a solution that isn’t warming up the Giallorossi who would prefer a permanent move. Milan will give it a serious go, though, as Fonseca really appreciates the Englishman’s qualities and is pushing for his arrival.
As the newspaper concludes, next week will be ‘the week of Abraham’ as Milan will look to get the deal over the line. Having said that, a loan move seemed very far-fetched for the time being.
A loan should be the only route we take. If he’s good we trigger the clause if he’s poor we send him back. It’s a common practise across the market, hedges your risk/reward.
You’re telling me there are no other strikers out there that Fonseca would be happy with that would fit our budget? Cmon. Loan for Abraham ok, don’t throw €20mn+ away on a rotation striker option when we have more pressing issues like a DM

I think the thing is the management promised him one player of his own choosing. And that is why were still trying for Abraham.
Because Fonseca likes Abraham like Pioli liked Krunic.

Loan with option to buy would be good option for Milan and bad for Roma, because they will have to deal with risk.
And Roma doesn’t desperately need to load off strikers because they lost Lukaku and Belotti, so it doesn’t make sense for them to loan Abraham to Milan, they can keep him as 2nd striker

Tammy Abraham will never go to Milan. His profile isn’t this new Milan’s style. Only 2 kind of style that this AC Milan want for mercato :
1. Maks 23 years old, with potential quality improvements and potential Market Value improvements. Examples : Tonali, Theo, Kalulu, Tomori, Thiaw, Terraciano, Reijnders, Adli, Chukwueze, Okafor, Saelemaekers.
2. More than 23 years old but Matured, Certain Quality (Technique & Mental) & Quantity (Fitness), and already a Champion to share with others. Examples : Giroud (WC, Euro, Premier, and he gave real contribution), Morata (just won the Euro 2024 as Spain Captain), Maignan (Lille no. 1 & Technically impressed the GK scout very much), Jovic (were a wonderkid and Real Madrid bought him), Loftus-Cheeks (most ideal traits to met Coach’s expectation for a pivot : Strong, Technical, can Defend & Attack equally good & won the UECL too)
So where is Tammy Abraham ? He is more than 23 years old, in declined pattern in his career, Fitness Issues, haven’t won anything with his significant contributions.
AC Milan will gamble to have his turn over moment in his career (Because the quality is there – Big and Strong, Technical). But with what cost ? It was too much in transfer fee & his wages.
Except apparently Fonseca is asking for him specifically.
It HAS to be a loan with an option. Just HAS to. I hope the management aren’t entertaining an actual outright purchase …

Especially as we don’t NEED to buy him. Roma on the other hand NEEDS to sell him so we hold the aces and therefore should mandate the terms. No swap. No direct purchase.
