CorSport: Why Zirkzee’s agent wants him to join Arsenal over Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee is pushing for a move to Arsenal over AC Milan for his client because of the financial package on offer, a report claims.

It was claimed by La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning that Zirkzee is the centre-forward that the Milan management want to present as a ‘gift’ to the incoming head coach Paulo Fonseca, and they believe they can win the race.

However, there are a couple of issues. Firstly, his agents are likely to command a big commission given that Zirkzee will move for his €40m clause, while there is competition from Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal to deal with.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via Daily Cannon), Zirkzee’s agent Joorabchian is pushing for him to join the Gunners because he has a close relationship with their sporting director Edu and believes he can use that to get a good deal.

A four-year contract worth €5m per year is apparently on the table for the player, with the London club believing that a lucrative contract and the chance to play in the Premier League could land them their man.

Because of Joorabchian’s links, it is very much possible that he would net a nice commission too for brokering the deal, one that Milan – based on their previous stance – would be a lot less likely to pay.

      1. They do when they want to maximize their income over their other interests (like being happy). Moneymoneymoneeeeyyyyy!

  1. Let him go to the Arsenal. Paying 40-milion euro and probably solid salary to a guy that had one good season in his life so far, and in this good season scored just 11 goals while playing for a good team is a mistake. These are not really impressive numbers. There wer 15 players in this season in Serie A that scored higher numbers (even Pulisic as winger got more). For all we know he could be the next Piatek or one of dozens one-season-wonders.

If you look at the numbers, he actually has worse goal/minute ratio than Okafor has, even though Okafor was not even playing as a striker, but mostly winger.

If they want to buy one-season-wonder and hope he will skyrocket, then go find someone cheaper. And if you want to spend 40-50mil, just go and buy a solid proven striker.

    1. But who could it be? It seems like market is very limited for strikers. Especially when you consider that Milan wants someone young and not extraordinary expensive.

    2. Your comment does not portray the quality of Joshua Zirkey … a Dutch 21-yr old player who can develop into whatever any sane coach could want in a striker unlike players in their late twenties that you can not change or re-mold again to soothe a club DNA

Did you say he scored 11-goals ?

He earns less than £20k per week and he scored 11-goals and he is not injury prone + he’s a Dutch player

Gabriel Jesus , an experienced international player who came from a city team with loads of experience, he’s on £265k per week weekly wages , he Scored just 4-Epl goals this season while Nketia on £100k weekly wages scored 5-Epl goals

Note : Even last season that was Jesus best season in Arsenal shirt , he didn’t score 11-goals in Epl

Fact check me ; the bonuses alone per season that Jesus earns , not his weekly wages , I mean just his total bonuses , exceed what Joshua Zirkey earns as wages.

Who would you rather have in your team ?

Unreliable fake striker who has even come out in the media to say he is not a striker and scoring goals is not his thing

Or a very hungry young striker who fits perfectly well in our current Arsenal system 🤷‍♂️ + He will be available week in week out for selections when needed …

I implore you to at least watch few clips of him on YouTube and not judge him based on the little info you know about him … he will give Arsenal closer to what we need than what Jesus and Nketia combine can give.

Note : Nobody knows Georkerez until this season @Sporting Lisbon , majority did not even know or remember he was in England , played at Leicester city and he didn’t make it , then he went to championship , then sporting took him … the current Georkerez we know is the same player that was in England, the difference the Ruben Amorim , the coach of sporting … if we understand what I mean.

If Mikel and Edu says it’s Joshua Zirsky , then they know better than us fan , far more than we know.

    3. So utterly clueless. This is his full season in football and he was in Bayern’s youth team. You don’t seem to understand the difference between a one season wonder and an emerging talent.

    4. Oh wow, he is from Bayern academy…

So are dozens of players that end up in local 2nd division as Bayern let them go each year. If you look up the youth Bayern’s squad he was a part of, you’ll notice that most of the players end up in either reserve squad of mid-Bundesliga teams, and some play for 3rd or 4th division teams. The fact that he comes from an Bayern academy unfortunately does not mean anything.

40mil for him is too much, expensive gamble. Arsenal can afford gambling like this because they don’t care for such money, for Milan it’s a lot.

  2. Rest assured Arsenal are not interested in him. He is a younger version of Gabriel Jesus. They do not need to buy the same profile they are putting on the bench.

    1. He’s not a younger version of Gabriel Jesus and definitely not the same typical profile of player … far from it

      And it’s not a rumor.

But then , time will tell

      1. Both of them are great at buildup and linkup play. Do dribbling and hold the ball, but do not score as much as they should. They could hardly get more similar. In any case, agreed, time will tell.

  3. Who wouldn’t want his client to join Arsenal over Milan in this modern era of football?

We are living in the past, until Milan decides to wake up and stop being full, other teams will keep stealing our targets from us.

Perhaps this is not Milan type of striker, he’s not 35 years old yet, maybe they forgot.

  4. The only thing that matters is the commission the agent will make.
    Arsenal paying more?
“pack your bags, Zee! You’re going to Arsenal”
