CorSport: ‘At the window, hoping’ – Milan still in the race for ‘stranded’ Rabiot

AC Milan have an interest in Adrien Rabiot after his contract with Juventus expired last month, and whilst the midfielder has not found a new club, the Rossoneri are continuing to hope.

The midfield is an area of focus for Milan now, and it has been all summer. However, with other areas sorted, or at least better than they were at the start of the window, the focus is now on creating a finished midfield.

Throughout the 2023/24 season, there were issues with depth and compatibility, and several players were harmed by a lack of a concrete position – Tijjani Reijnders most notably. Therefore, the balance must be addressed.

With this in mind, there has been a focus on more defensively-minded players, and Youssouf Fofana and Adrien Rabiot have been the dream duo for the majority of the summer, but neither deal is progressing as the Diavolo would like.

Currently, Fofana arriving next summer is a very real possibility, and his compatriot is yet to make a decision. However, Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News) suggest that Milan are ‘still at the window, hoping’. Given there have been no bites for Rabiot with his current demands leaving him ‘stranded’, perhaps, he needs to scale them back, and this could suit the Rossoneri.
