AC Milan will kick off their season on Monday evening, taking on Bologna away from home at 20:45 CEST. Stefano Pioli is not expected to make any changes to the ‘usual’ XI we have seen during the pre-season.
The manager relied on the same set of players for a majority of the friendlies this pre-season, starting the backups in separate friendly games. For the game against Bologna, he will continue on the same path.
David Calabria has recently recovered from an injury and Pierre Kalulu should thus keep his spot on the right-hand side. Christian Pulisic will also play from start on the same side, having spent more time with the team than Samuel Chukwueze.
As for Bologna, the big question mark is their star Riccardo Orsolini. In addition to being linked with several teams, he recently recovered from an injury and might not be able to play the game from the first minute.
Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.
Probable Bologna XI (4-3-3): Skorupski; Posch, Beukema, Lucumi, Corazza; Aebishcer, Dimonguez, Ferguson; Ndoye, Zirkzee, Moro.
Get Dominguez quick ffs..
Idk what’s Pioli on he’s keep on forcing 433 although there are clear signs that it doesn’t suit well, especially with Krunic as regista.
Why is he so stubborn and reluctant after bad results in preseason? I mean not only the results but we didn’t play well, no end product, bad linkup..
4231 worth another try after arrival of new players I guess? Maignan Kalulu Thiaw Tomori Theo RLC Reinjders Chuk Pulisic Rafa Okafor. 🙃🙃🙃🙃 he’s getting sacked before January.
Why should we buy another mezzala (Dominguez)? We already buy three.
And why should we revert back to double pivot when we now have a lot of mezzalas?
I think Dominguez could be a regista. Regardless positions, what actually matters is their playing characteristics. We need a gladiator-type midfielder. Someone with a never say die mentality. We had it in Sandro, although he still has to improve defensively. And I think Dominguez is the right profile. These type of player doesn’t boast stats but is very crucial to the team.
We don’t have one regista now and if you watch Dominguez he can definitely fill that role better than what we have now. But stubborn Pioli is blinded by love and doesn’t want to ruin his current relationship. Maybe he plans on proposing before the game in front of the crowd.
So it is all just speculation? Just like how last season we sign CDK as AM because he has creativity even though his success was as SS?
I think it’s great that the first game is against Bologna.
Now we might see the comparison of the mid-field domination between Krunic and Dominguez,
and maybe it will convince someone there to bring him before the end of the Marceto.
Finally get to see a back four of Kalulu-Thiaw-Tomori-Theo. Strongest imo.
I really prefer Kalulu to Calabria, he has better attacking potential and he used to play CB so he knows how to defend well also.
Allows Theo to play more forward in attack as he will have an extremely athletic 3-man to defend the counter when needed.
How on earth musah suspension from primera aplies on serie A ,that must be the most stupid rule ever italian football federation made
Well I guess Dominguez will be playing a final of sorts for his career. All eyes WILL be on him I suppose. If he does we’ll his price goes up, if he doesn’t we’ll not get him or anyone because of one game
