CorVerona: Milan, Juventus and Atalanta all interested in €20m-rated Italy U21 defender

AC Milan remain interested in signing Matteo Lovato from Hellas Verona but face strong competition, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere di Verona (via MilanNews), there are several clubs that have set their sights on Lovato after an impressive season during which he broke into the first team and played plenty under Ivan Juric.

The Rossoneri are mentioned as one of the clubs keen on landing the 22-year-old, but Serie A rivals Juventus, Atalanta, Lazio and Napoli are on his trail too. In recent weeks Atalanta have emerged as the club most serious about signing the Italy U21 international, who is valued €20m by Verona.

A number of sources continue to report that the Rossoneri management have Lovato in mind as a potential defensive reinforcement for the summer window, and Juric even acknowledged the Milan links towards the end of the season in a rant about the defender’s form.
