Costacurta believes Ibrahimovic at ‘50% of his potential’ is stronger than Giroud

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently working hard on recovering from the knee surgery he underwent in the summer. The road is still long but the Swede can now see the light at the end of the tunnel, with just a few months left.

The 41-year-old, who’s involved in many ventures off the pitch from Padel facilities in Sweden and Italy to indirectly owning a betting company (BetHard), will soon be back on the pitch. If you’re interested in betting and casino games yourself, make sure to read about grand rush vip.

The plan is to bring Ibrahimovic to the training camp in Dubai, which will take place in December, and he could slowly but steadily increase the load on his knee. He perhaps won’t take part in the group training too much, but it’s still very useful to bring him to the camp.

Ibrahimovic has been a key figure in Milan’s recent success and his continued support, even when he’s injured, has helped the team grow. Billy Costacurta, the Milan legend, has spoken highly of the striker and his eventual return in a recent interview with Tuttosport.

“I expect his usual contribution, i.e. quality plays with the ability to involve all of his teammates. Giroud is doing his thing, indeed, he has surprised with how many goals he has scored thinking about his history. However, he doesn’t have the ability to enhance the skills of others like Ibra. From my point of view, Zlatan at 50% of his maximum potential remains stronger than Giroud,” he said as cited by MilanNews.

One can only agree with Costacurta and if Ibrahimovic were to make a full recovery, then he would be an important player in the second half of the season. Olivier Giroud, who has been fantastic, has been forced to work overtime and could use the extra hand in leading Milan’s frontline.

Having both the veterans to rely on could really be something for Stefano Pioli, who also has an eye on the future along with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara. Noah Okafor seems to be the primary target for the summer, having convinced the Rossoneri especially in the games against them.

Until then, though, it will be up to Giroud and perhaps also Ibrahimovic to help Milan reduce the gap to Napoli. It’s currently eight points and the second half of the season will, no doubt, be difficult for Milan but it could also be a great comeback.
