AC Milan have been linked with the former Inter man Romelu Lukaku in the last few weeks, but the rumours haven’t exactly been met with excitement. In addition to the fans, club legend Billy Costacurta believes it wouldn’t be the right signing.
Lukaku is not exactly liked in the red and black parts of Milano, and perhaps not in the blue and back parts now either, but reports suggest that Milan are interested. Talks have been held with Chelsea over a loan deal, though the English side are keen on a permanent one.
Speaking live on Sky Italia last night, as cited by MilanNews, Milan legend Billy Costacurta was asked about the Lukaku links. He stated that he would rather give the youngster Francesco Camarda – set to play for Milan Futuro – the chance instead.
“Lukaku? I don’t think he would have any issues with the environment, but I’m no longer a big fan of his. Instead of Lukaku, I hope Camarda can play,” he stated.
Joshua Zirkzee remains the first choice and it remains to be seen if the Rossoneri will be able to close a deal for him. In any case, it’s safe to say that Lukaku’s potential arrival would be far from popular.

Damn I don’t want Lukaku but to imagine that Camarda can have the same impact is silly. Look at the pic of Camarda from yesterday, in swimwear, he needs to grow a lot and gain weight and muscle to compete intensively at the highest level. Hopefully he can develop this year but he’s far from being ready to be a starter for a UCL team.
Yeah only Camarda will fail to win any aerial duel or fail to even run straight for 10 meters shoulder to shoulder with defender without getting pushed away.

Had the same thought. Then I realized that Yamal is on the wing where holding your ground isn’t a key skill. CF’s need to hold up and dominate position if I understand how we intend to play.
Now, I will say that given we resigned Jovic, have Okafur and are looking at Zirkzee makes me think that a “target man” isn’t where our offense is going. Personally with Leah and Puli on the wings I believe a mobile 9.5 will be devastating.
What I don’t know is if Camarda is also suited to that technical, always moving style?
I think the point Costa made, was that Camarda should take the place in our squad that Lukaku is being sought after. If he arrived it would be as an alternative to our first striker – This is a role Camarda can grow in.

Don’t look at Lamine Yamal. Yanal is a winger. There is a big difference in playing as a striker vs playing as a winger.
Playing as a striker is a lot more demanding physically than as a winger. Wingers rely on speed and skill.
As a striker you are surrounded by the most physical players in the defense, while as a winger you go vs players like Calabria, Florenzi, Di Lorenzo and the rest of the bum fullbacks of serie A.

Lukaku offers experience, consistency and physicality – would dovetail well with Camarda if we could secure him for one or two seasons.
