Costacurta names the one thing Hernandez must improve to become ‘extraordinary’

By Isak Möller -

Theo Hernandez has had a great start to his adventure at AC Milan, currently being the joint-top goalscorer of the team with four goals from his left-back position. Of course, he has received a lot of praise for his performances.

Against Parma, the Frenchman scored the winner, and he followed that up with yet another goal against Bologna yesterday. He has quickly become a fan favourite, as his pace and strength is something that the Rossoneri have lacked on the left flank.

However, he hasn’t been perfect, struggling a lot in the defensive phase. Yesterday, he caused penalty with a silly foul and also scored an own-goal, although he couldn’t do much about the latter.

In an interview with Sky Italia this evening (via MilanNews.it), the former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta shared his thoughts on the 22-year-old. As mentioned, the defence seems to be the final piece for Hernandez.

“If he improves in the defensive phase as well, then he will become extraordinary. On things like the penalty, just a little is enough. There is room for improvement, he just has to work on it,” Costacurta stated.
