Costacurta shares thoughts on Liverpool clash as Milan ‘scared Klopp’ with Lazio win

By Isak Möller -

At 21:00 Italy time, AC Milan will take on Lazio in the first round of the Champions League group stage. After seven long years, the Rossoneri are finally back in the prestigious competitions.

Stefano Pioli’s men are in great form as they have started the season with three wins in three games. In the process, they have scored seven goals and conceded just one, confirming that they will fight for the Scudetto this campaign.

Most recently, Milan impressed with a 2-0 against Lazio as they more or less dominated the game, at least in terms of chances. The start has certainly been encouraging, therefore, and they will be high on confidence tonight.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Milan legend Billy Costacurta shared his thoughts on tonight’s game. He stated that the Rossoneri are good enough to get a good result and also explained why they ‘scared’ Klopp.

“Milan enriches this competition, makes it more fascinating. These guys, who will play at Anfield tonight, I think they really deserved the Champions League thanks to a game and performances that surprised everyone. Among other things, they come from a very positive moment and I’m curious to see them play this evening.

“I think Milan’s path is to be exalted and Klopp did it. Milan are back to being a team that can stay at these levels. The performance against Lazio thrilled us all and scared Klopp. Milan can put this Liverpool in difficulty,” he stated.
