Ahead of the important game against AC Milan tomorrow, Cremonese’s manager Davide Nicola shared his thoughts on what will be needed from his side to get a good result.
After a very positive start to the season, which included the win against Milan in the opening round, Cremonese have taken a turn for the worse. They haven’t won since the beginning of December (!) and the relegation zone is now very close.

As such, just as Milan need to bounce back after two games without a win, Cremonese definitely need to make the most of the Rossoneri’s drop in form. Speaking at his press conference earlier today, the manager Nicola said as much.
What will be the key tomorrow?
“We are facing a team with quality, but we are playing on our home turf, and we know we will have to know how to stand up to our opponents and maintain the right amount of confidence from now until the end.”
Milan are the team that apply the least pressure in Europe’s top five leagues. Do you expect a similar attitude tomorrow?
“First of all, they are second in the table, so the strategies they have chosen are yielding the desired results.
“We are talking about a team with great individual qualities that has found consistency and characteristics that work well with their players, but I’m focused on the fact that to compete with them, we will have to approach every phase of the game with great determination.”
Is the reverse leg win an extra boost for tomorrow?
“Clearly, a solid result would make us happy, but it wouldn’t end our season there. The important thing for Cremonese is to get back on the pitch and play with a sense of humour and joy, overcoming any differences that may exist.
“We have played with great concentration, but we seem a little slower because we’re overthinking things. Let’s shake off our worries and doubts; this team has what it takes to achieve its goal: those who maintain their spirit and willpower until the end are the ones who will succeed,” he concluded.
It remains to be seen which side will prevail tomorrow, but what’s clear is that it will be a hard-fought game as both teams desperately want the three points. Perhaps that’s a type of game that will suit the home side better…
