Sky: Crystal Palace want Milan defender to replace Guehi – negotiations ‘not progressing’

Crystal Palace are currently pursuing possible deals for three centre-backs with Marc Guehi pushing to join Liverpool, and one belongs to AC Milan.

One of the big stories of the day in England is whether Guehi will be allowed to go and join Liverpool, and it seems to depend on whether Palace can get a replacement through the door before the deadline.

According to Sky Sports, Brighton defender Igor Julio is undergoing a medical with the Eagles ahead of what would be a loan with option to buy deal. However, there are concerns West Ham may yet hijack the operation late on.

So, they are looking into alternative names. Oliver Glasner is ‘keen for the club to complete a deal’ for Milan’s Strahinja Pavlovic, although the latest Sky have been told is that ‘negotiations are not currently progressing’.

Given that Milan are looking to sign a central defender, letting another leave would certainly seem very unlikely especially so late in the mercato. As a reminder, the Joe Gomez deal is now off, despite the fact Guehi could still move to Liverpool.

Jaydee Canvot from Toulouse has undergone a medical with the south London club and his signing is expected to be confirmed shortly, so he would bolster the centre-back position.

  1. I’d sell him right away but there is no one to play. Allegri will have a nervous break down before the end of September…

  2. With how things are going on right now, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to see Pavlovic go, maybe a swap deal for another offensive midfielder…

    1. No, another 6. To compete with Ricci, Jashari and Modric, since Allegri sees them all in that position. Perfect. We need at least 5.

      1. I was going to respond with some position that we actually don’t need from strategy/tactics view. However, no one bloody knows what formation we are going to use, so the joke’s on me…

      2. Allegri has no say in the market, he even admitted he doesn’t know what to do with what’s his name that came from Chelsea

    2. This would be brilliant, ONLY if Milan go for Scalvini. All the money/potential coming in, we can afford Scalvini after the deal with Musah.

  3. That’s the thing….every club knows every one of our players is available to buy at the right price. So if you’re a club and you REALLY need a player, just stop on by the AC Milan player shop and get them. It’s crazy the lack of backbone/spine we’ve come to be known for

  4. Milan Mart. Low prices are just the beginning.

Or, this is all made up BS by to folks who brought us “stadium progress”

    Live the drama
    Forza Milan
