Udinese’s Curva Nord have published a statement confirming they intend to show ‘dissent’ towards Mike Maignan, after a banner was displayed in the city.

During last season’s trip to the Stadio Friuli, Maignan alerted his team-mates and the officials that he was getting racially abused after a warning had been broadcast, so the players went off the field to show solidarity.

The French goalkeeper was understandably very angry and upset with the events, but the game carried on a few minutes later. The Rossoneri hit back on the field as Luka Jovic and Noah Okafor scored late to snatch a dramatic 3-2 victory.

Ahead of tomorrow night’s meeting at the same venue, though, tensions have been stoked again. As MilanNews report, last night in the city of Udine a banner appeared which read: ‘Maignan man of s***’. It was

In addition, the Curva Nord of Udinese have published a statement on their Facebook page, and it would be fair to say that they are far from apologetic.

“Friuli, Udine and the Curva Nord are not racist. Let’s demonstrate it. Our dissent towards Mike Maignan (the Friulian people do not forget), done in a civil manner without falling into discriminatory attitudes.

“Let’s go beyond the more or less manipulated media resonances, let’s make ourselves heard while remaining within the canons of correctness that have always been recognised to us. Now and always Forza Udinese.”

  1. There will be much rejoicing when this cancer in football club form finally gets relegated. Sadly it will not happen this season, but there is always next one.

    1. Im a bit sympathetic to the Udine people. The word racist gas been thrown around so liberally in recent years, used to tarnish opposing views, it has lost all meaning. Goalies get stick in every game at every level without having meltdowns.

      1. What’s worse than an unapologetic racist.
A racist who tries to defend and or excuse downright bad behavior.

Exactly what you are doing now.

And even if, by a minute chance they were not racist, so goalies getting sticks in matches makes it alright?? Or those goalies shouldn’t complain. What a brain dead way of looking at things🙄😒🤦‍♂️

        1. The type of comment I expected. It is not right (never mentioned otherwise) for a player to get abuse. But if you put large crowds of people close to someone that is trying to stop your team, naturally there will be a small few that will hurl abuse. A goalie has to expect it and be used to it, which majority of keepers seem to be doing. Maybe Maignon is just a bit more sensitive.

          1. And there is nothing wrong with him been a little more sensitivewe accept mediocrity and poor behavior soo much, we actually justify it and turn a blind eye to it with such statements as

Because A is on the receiving end and doing nothing, then means B too must be on the receiving end and do nothing.

Mike is human and also more importantly milanistas. And do are you.

Your priorities first and foremost stand with Milan not udinese. If not so go support them and feel sorry for them all you want.

THEY WERE RACIST AND DISPLAYED VERY VERY POOR HUMANITY. simple short and concise.

I feel not even a minute shred for them, and the fact that they are unapologetic racists despite been condemned by the league and others also says everything.

This is 2025.and I know people use Tha term alot, but it is meant to hit hard. There is no room for racism or deplorable behavior anywhere in the world especially in a powerful, soulfully evocative sport like football. It should not be excused, felt for or turned a blind eye to.

I wait to rejoice the day that space waste cancerous excuse for a club called udinese are relegated. Hope we trash them and help speed up their relegation even sooner.
            Forza milan
            Forza diavolo
            Forza Rossoneri
