Daily Mail: Milan express interest in Arsenal striker but Monaco are on pole

By Oliver Fisher -

Arsenal are ready to sell Folarin Balogun this summer and while a move to Ligue 1 looks the most likely, AC Milan have reportedly shown an interest.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are looking to raise around £100m (€116m) by selling players that Mikel Arteta does not consider an immediate part of his plans and Balogun is one of those players.

They want £50m for the USA international, which is around €58m, and Balogun has spent part of the summer away from first-team training. He was also not named in the matchday squad for either of Arsenal’s first two games of the season.

Chelsea, West Ham and Tottenham are among the teams to have enquired, but selling to a Premier League rival would mean the Gunners charge a higher asking price.

Milan and Inter ‘have shown an interest’ as per the source, but it is Monaco who are best placed to land him and they are expected to come in with a new improved offer by the end of the week.

  1. Really think this guy will fly in Serie A – they would probably let him go outside the PL for 30-35 but that still knocks us into touch

      1. Living tax free on the Cote d’Azur and playing first team football ahead of a home world cup in a couple of years. Better than sitting on Arsenal’s bench.

  2. I’ve liked the idea of this all summer but assumed we were priced out at this point. I suspect there’s nothing in this story.

  3. If we would’ve sold CDK right away and also Saelemaekers we could’ve afford him. Then the mercato would’ve been perfect and that team had been a contender on all fronts.
