MN: SPAL ask for Daniel Maldini on loan – the player is considering the move

By Oliver Fisher -

There could be some surprise late movement in AC Milan’s January transfer window as Daniel Maldini is attracting interest from Serie B, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, SPAL have requested the loan of Daniel Maldini for the second half of the season, where he would of course team up with another Milan Primavera graduate in striker Lorenzo Colombo.

The report adds that the 20-year-old could actually accept a loan to have more chances to play and develop, given that so far this season Maldini has amassed just 219 minutes in 11 appearances with a couple of starts.

What it would mean for Milan’s attack remains to be seen though, because even though Maldini’s opportunities have been limited up to this point, the other playmaker – Brahim Diaz – has been massively struggling for form over the past three months with no other real alternatives aside from Rade Krunic.

  1. Kid needs more playtime, and for whatever reason he is last in pecking order, behind both Brahim who hasn’t been himself for months and Rade, who is well… himself. It is obvious that that won’t change even if they both break their legs, because Pioli would rather play Kessie, or Saele or whoever he finds standing closest to him instead of Maldini so, its probably not a bad idea for him go on a loan.

    1. Agreed.

Also agree Its moronic from Pioli.

We CANNOT have Diaz in any way. The deal is:
      1. Buy him out for 22m if he somehow improves,
      2. But then Real can buy him back for 28m.

Meanwhile you have strict homegrown rules in Serie A.

Maldini is valuable yet we develop mediocre real player
