Danish journalist provides analysis of Copenhagen star Daramy and gives update on Milan talks

By Oliver Fisher -

Danish journalist David E. Bastian-Moeller has given an update on AC Milan’s reported interest in signing Mohammed Daramy from Copenhagen.

Milan have been linked with several players lately and one of them is Daramy, who plays for Copenhagen. It seems the winger is a concrete target of the Rossoneri as new contact have taken place, per a report.

Anto Vitiello of MilanNews reported how the 19-year-old is on Milan’s wish list and contacts have taken place with Copenhagen in the last few days. However, in order to get to an advanced stage, the Rossoneri would have to sell Jens Petter Hauge.

Bastian-Moeller – a journalist at Copenhagen Sundays – spoke to MilanNews about the player’s current situation as well as his key strengths and potential for the future.

Daramy is a player that Milan really like, but who is he? Could you tell us a little about his story?

“Daramy, or Mo, as we call him in Copenhagen, is a young, fast and strong player. He is 19 and already has 82 appearances for Copenhagen. He arrived at Copenhagen in the suburb of Hvidovre in the U14 team. At the age of 15 years old he was the top scorer of Copenhagen U17 and at the age of 16 he made his debut with the first team,” he said.

“His family is originally from Sierra Leone, but Mo was born in Denmark. The day before his 18th birthday he had citizenship and on the same day he was preselected for the Danish national team, playing this summer in the Under 21 European Championships.”

What are its qualities and where can it still improve?

“He is fast, strong with the ball and technically skilled. Maybe he needs a little more patience and will surely mature in the next few years.”

We know that Daramy can play a variety of attacking roles. But what is the best position on the pitch for the player?

“I see him as both a right attacking winger and a right midfielder. He has powerful impulses.”

What do they say in Copenhagen about his likely transfer to Milan?

“There is a lot of talk around Copenhagen. And actually people understand and know that it is natural that Mohamed Daramy is connected to a great club like Milan in a great league.”

Is the deal for Daramy already well underway? Where are we in the negotiation?

“I’m pretty sure Copenhagen are in no rush to sell Daramy. Presumably other big clubs are interested. Mo’s talent is obvious and there is no doubt it will be a big sale for the Danish team.”
