Date set for public debate regarding Milan and Inter’s revised stadium project

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Inter have made progress with regard to their stadium project, with the wheels currently in motion for the public debate. In fact, it seems a date has been set for the latter to be initiated.

The project has been in the works for several years but after presenting a revised edition recently, Milan and Inter managed to get the green light from the city council. It has also been sent to the national commission for the public debate.

Speaking at the assembly of Assimpredil Ance, as cited by MilanPress, Milan mayor Beppe Sala was asked about the start of the public debate. He confirmed that they are waiting for the go-ahead from the commission.

“It seems to me that it’s September 28th, we are waiting for the consensus from Rome regarding the modalities of the public debate and the project we have presented,” he stated.

The outcome of the public debate will obviously be decisive for the project and the clubs are not out of the woods yet. The project includes the complete demolition of Giuseppe Meazza and the Milano inhabitants might be against that.
