DAZN: Milan, Atletico and Inter brace for auction over Torino captain – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Alessandro Buongiorno is seemingly one of AC Milan’s top targets to reinforce the defence this summer. However, as a report claims, the competition is bound to be fierce with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Inter also interested.

Milan expressed their interest in the Torino captain during the January transfer window. However, Torino president Urbano Cairo didn’t want to sell his star mid-season, but a summer exit appears to be on the card for the defender.

According to DAZN journalist Orazio Accomando, Milan and Inter are very interested in signing Buongiorno this summer. However, Atletico Madrid are also in the race – having made the defender a priority – and there is bound to be an auction over the 24-year-old.

Milan usually do not get involved in auctions and that stance is not expected to change. However, as was reported by Tuttosport this morning, the Rossoneri will propose a maxi operation to Torino involving counterparts.

The likes of Marco Pellegrino, Tommaso Pobega and Lorenzo Colombo are just a few of the potential counterparts, so there is scope for an agreement here. Especially since Torino have been very keen on Pobega in the past. Having said that, the fierce competition could still be too big of a hurdle.

  1. Kindly stop pushing this nonsense narrative about clubs accepting rejects as part of transfers. It’s not the 1990s. List the high profile signings in recent years whose fees were substantially lowered by rejects? I imagine it’s a very short list.

  2. I doubt we’ll participate in an auction for Buongiono or Zirkzee. Management will need to work on a plan B and a plan C.
If we want to get solid value, we either need to move first or accept that our choices might not be optimal.

  3. Do you guys also notice like whoever is hot on transfer market. Milan PR team is bringing Milan into conversation out of nowhere.

Everybody knows that this guy is not coming to us even if he himself wants.

Torino boss won’t negotiate price, he sets the price. He won’t sell this kid even for 35 mil. Our board will offer a pack of cigarettes and Pobega and pretends like it is a good deal

We better focus on that Brassier or Wolfsburg guy. Those deals are achievable

      1. No brother we need one decent CB.
Look at this season, our defense is attraction park, everyone is coming and having a good time.

Next season there won’t be Kjaer and Caldara is off balance sheet. We need to combine their salary and sign a starter level CB.

Kalulu is injured whole season, Thiaw is playing against us. We have only Tomori and Gabbia you can trust on although Tomori has bitc habit of getting red out of nowhere sometimes.

So we definitely need a quality CB, DM and a CF if we want win sth.

We definitely need to avoid from gamble cheap signings. That Argentinian dwarf is never challenging Puli and Chuk on RW position.

Another Argentinian CB turn out to be a fake footballer.

Wannabe Vlahovic…. Good knows where he is now

        1. The goals we have conceded this season have been mostly because we lack a DM.

Stick a DM in there and we plug a massive hole.

Kjaer should stay as a 5th choice behind Tomori, Gabbia, Thiaw and Kalulu (who can also cover for RB and maybe even LB) with Simic also in the mix.

If we sign another CB we break up those partnerships that have barely had a chance to play together due to injury and fiddling.

League winning CB pairings need 50 plus games together and to dominate again we should be looking at CB pairings that will play together for 100s of games like Pepe/Ramos, Bonucci/Chiellini, and Nesta/Maldini.

Signing Stam in 2005 broke up the Maldini and Nesta partnership and probably cost us the champions league and title that season.

Every transfer is disruptive and so we need to really target. I’d prefer to spend whatever money we have on a DM. And if we have any left over a CF.

We really need to focus and give this side time to gel.

          1. Kjaer will leave , already confirmed by management except in last day pioli asking management renew kjaer ( low chance that happen ) . Caldara will leave too, pelegrino mediocre and will be using as bargain chip or loan out. Kalulu injury prone , you need atleast 4 CB healthy to compete for 2 spot . Tomori , Gabbia,Thiaw and bungi, whoever win the starting spot it is good for team . Simic need playing time ,better loan him like ACM do to gabbia & pobega , both are coming back stronger to ACM

  4. It will be unacceptable to lose another major target to inter. We are the ones with the positive balance sheet and they are allegedly on the verge of collapse yet they always seem to get their man….

We need to buy players who know the league first and foremost

    1. Not sold on getting players that know the league. All for getting the best players. Not 1 of our Ballon D’Ors were raised in our league except Gianni Rivera 100 years ago.

      1. Yes but we didn’t have a team of Ballon D’Or winners…..

We simply don’t need a CB, and it’s a massive two fingers to Gabbia. That’s my problem.
