DAZN: Milan decide to join race for 29-year-old Spanish defender

By Oliver Fisher -

We currently seem to be a in a very fluid stage of AC Milan’s mercato where targets are coming and going quickly, with Mario Hermoso the latest to arrive on the scene.

Milan appear to be in the market for a new left-sided central defender as the links with the likes of Diogo Leite and Strahinja Pavlovic suggest, and Hermoso’s name came up in a Sky report last night.

According to what is being reported by Orazio Accomando of DAZN, the Milan management have decided to formally join the race for Hermoso, who is available on a free transfer after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired.

The Spaniard has been a target for Napoli since last April, but the Azzurri have to make a sale at present in order to have the room to go for him. Inter remain in the running too, but now the Rossoneri have put their hat in the ring and developments should follow.

The 29-year-old has plenty of experience in the biggest competitions and he can also play as a left-back if required. His salary demands have not been disclosed at this stage, but it must be recalled that Milan had a delegation in Madrid yesterday to close the Alvaro Morata deal.

  1. “According to what is being reported by Orazio Accomando of DAZN” – I’ve never even heard of that name. Is this valid enough of a source to be cited here?

  2. let’s hope that he will follow Alvaro Morata. that’s the best option for him and AC Milan. definitely – yes. this what we need. together with Pavlovic is sth amazing.

especially Thiaw and Tomori can leave the club. no one will cry.

    1. I will cry. You cant just sell 2 starting cbs and bring 2 new in and expect results. Either Hermoso will play or Pavlo. both are left footed so they do lcb
