DAZN: Milan spoke about Hermoso during Morata negotiations – talks are continuing

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are continuing their discussions with the entourage of Mario Hermoso over what would be a potential free transfer, according to a report.

Milan’s defensive department was always expected to undergo changes after the team let in 49 goals in the league last season and 69 across all competitions, but there is a real possibility developing whereby two centre-backs could leave and two could arrive.

A number of different sources are reporting that Strahinja Pavlovic is close to arriving from Red Bull Salzburg in what would be a deal around €20m, and he would replace Simon Kjaer who departed when his contract ran out.

However, Malick Thiaw could also leave as Newcastle United continue to be linked with him, and that would most likely see the management move to cover for his departure too with another addition.

According to Orazio Accomando of DAZN, the entourage of Hermoso are ‘continuing their dialogue’ with Milan, which first started during the talks that were held over Alvaro Morata given he has the same agent.

The Spaniard – who left Atletico Madrid at the end of June when his contract expired – does not seem to be an option for Inter and Napoli at the moment. The Nerazzurri are trying to make a move for Jakub Kiwior, who has significantly lower salary costs and commissions.
