AC Milan face competition from Juventus to sign Maxim De Cuyper from Club Brugge, and it seems their rivals have moved first.
As Calciomercato.com write, the results over the weekend mean that Juventus have their fate in their own hands and a top four finish is getting closer. That will bring in much-needed funds for changes to the squad, as will the potential sale of Andrea Cambiaso.
The feeling is that the relationship has broken down between the full-back and the Bianconeri, which points towards a summer exit. His agent confirmed that in January there was interest too, during a recent interview with Radio Kiss Kiss.
“Guardiola wanted him, Juventus will explain what happened, I tell you that everything that has been written in relation to the deal is true,” Giovanni Bia – Cambiaso’s representative – told the station, fuelling rumours in view of the summer.
Guardiola has not given up on the former Genoa man. With an offer of €40-45m the deal can go through, but watch out for Liverpool: they must find an heir to Trent Alexander-Arnold who is destined for Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Juventus must then replace Cambiaso. In recent days their director Cristiano Giuntoli has asked for in-depth information on De Cuyper of Club Brugge, a profile that is highly sought after in view of the mercato.
Milan are also very keen on the Belgian event of the sale of Theo Hernandez (amid rumours of offering a renewal with a pay cut to the Frenchman). Juventus have moved early though, sending a clear signal: the club are already working on the post-Cambiaso era.
But de Cuypers even without theo leaving to force him out
Outbidded before bidding even started lmao. Just get Parisi in exchange for Adli and move on.
We’ll still be messing around with Theo’s renewal on Sept. 1. He won’t be sold, and nobody will come in to replace or even back him up. Then the market will close and they’ll keep “negotiating” until February or March and then they’ll announce that Theo is leaving on a free.
And you did not even need a crystal ball
We all know the pattern of RedBird. I’m just stating the easiest and cheapest way to get that position under control. Hell, I’ve suggested many times last summer to sign Spinazzola on a free and Di Lorenzo for 20 millions. We could have both flanks covered for 20 millions last summer but they went on to waste 15 millions on Emerson.
