De Ketelaere comments on Atalanta future after match-winning brace vs. Roma

By Oliver Fisher -

Charles De Ketelaere continued his fantastic rebound season with Atalanta as he scored a match-winning brace that helped them beat Roma last night.

The two goals that De Ketelaere did score were reflective of a player that is full of confidence. For the first one he drifted in from the left and found the far corner, and for the second he slotted home a feed from Gianluca Scamacca with precision.

After being the great protagonist of the evening, De Ketalaere spoke to DAZN after the game and he was asked about his future.

“I’ve always tried to do my thing game after game, I’ve grown a lot and it shows. This match was a big step towards the Champions League, now we have two finals and we’re going with the same confidence,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).

He was also asked about the Atalanta president’s comments regarding his future, in which he strongly implied that they plan to use the option to buy him permanently.

“I thank him for the kind words, but now I’m thinking about the next matches.”

Percassi spoke after Atalanta’s Europa League win over Marseille last week and he was asked about the idea of signing De Ketelaere on permanent deal. His response was clear: “We will make it happen.”

Fabrizio Romano reported that Atalanta have a €23m option to buy clause plus €4m add-ons and 10% sell-on clause for Milan.

  1. 13G9A, almost double-double with two games left , same with Pulisic. Not bad for a loanee. But not as bad-ass Puli. Wonderkid who will be the first and second world class striker we sign.

    1. Not only 13G9A but 13G9A for our direct rivals.

If you’re going to give up on a player don’t send them to our direct rivals.

      It’s f’ing stupid.

And it’s f’ing stupidity that’s only accepted because people accept the f’ing stupidity of the transfer market.

      1. We could have kept but that probably would have needed us to fire Pioli at the end of last season.
Pioli couldn’t get him in form and then told him there was no position for him in our new 433 formation.
But that was short lived. So we could have used him after all.

Yes we reinforced a direct rival but we also needed to see if he could cope with Serie A. No way to do that without reinforcing a rival.

        1. It’s not the first time it’s happened which is why so many of our former players play for our direct rivals including Inter.

We either back players or we send them as far away as possible.

It really shouldn’t be that hard.

        1. Yes Atalanta the nobody team that’s in the Europa League final, are serial champions league qualifiers and are only 1 point or 1 final away from qualifying again.

How do we benefit from strengthening them?

Why are you even defending this?

Why are you taking time out of your day to defend sending a player to a rival?

Do you disagree we’d all be better off if he was playing in England along side all of the other former Milan players playing for our direct rivals?

          1. Atalanta did fine in the last decade but they very far away from being any sort of rival to Milan.. Milan only has 2 direct rivals in Italy and that is merde inter and merde juve.

I don’t give a fück where anyone plays as long it isn’t juve or inter. And even among those 3 there have been direct transfer throughout history. So idk what you whining about really.. cdk whent to atalanta, accept it and move on like a good little boy

          2. @ flyingturtle Why is the only ‘whining’ that’s not permitted around here when I criticise structural issues with the transfer market and the long term strategy?

Apparently people can ‘whine’ all day about the coach, the players, even apparently finishing 2nd, but nobody dare look at the bigger picture.

Your views on Atalanta shows how delusional fans are. Dismissing a team only a few points behind us because you imagine we’re some sort of Big Player.

It’s precisely this attitude that has cost us points against the bottom teams. It’s also this attitude that leads to chaotic and panicked decision making as we desperately try and rush greatness.

And then we achieve greatness with a Scudetto win we cannot even keep it together.

Because of all the endless whining.

          3. Few points.. atalanta is only a few points behind milan and I’m the delusional one.. just stop whining, you’ve no idea what you’re talking about.

Atalanta is a feeder club and will never be anything more. Rival? My a$$

          4. @ flyingturtle

How is that even a response to a comment?

You seem very triggered by my comments. Seek help.

  2. At least he shows at Atlanta what made us sign him before. Under the correct coach, he shows his talent. Good for him. Wish him all the very best.

  3. Not important . After this season end , he is no longer ACM player. Sempre Milan dont need to posting his news anymore after he become atalanta player

    1. I’ll still include him in my 11 former players who play for our rivals…

      Darmian Acerbi Romagnoli
      Bellanova De Sciglio

      Cristante Locatelli Bonaventura

      CDK. El Shaaraway

      Well done everyone.

        1. I’ve deliberately excluded snakes.

          That’s why there’s no GK!

The rest were pushed out due to mismanagement.

  4. Happy for CDK. He just needed time to adapt and to be played in his correct position. Unfortunately Pioli couldn’t accommodate him. Just shows those fools who said he was trash and blamed the CDK signing as the reason for firing Maldini know absolutely nothing lol. Now let’s collect that $$ and reinvest in another player.

  5. CDK can be effective for milan as one of the attacking midfielder alongside pulisic in a 4321. This formation allows the fullbacks to bomb forward to provide width while being covered by the 3 midfielders. A deep lying playmaker like Jorginho or Ricci to dictate the tempo alongside the two mezzala, plus a good link up striker like Zirkzee are all that Milan need. However, this shift in formation should only happen if Leao is sold.
