The hope was that a different version of Charles De Ketelaere at the World Cup with Belgium but it has been anything but that, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) write how after being on the bench for 90 minutes against Canada, yesterday the attacking midfielder made his World Cup debut in the match between Belgium and Morocco, without leaving his mark.
De Ketelaere came on for Michy Batshuayi 30 minutes into the second half, two minutes after Sabiri gave Morocco the lead. Head coach Roberto Martinez initially put him on as a striker, then with the entry of Romelu Lukaku saw him move a bit deeper.
The Belgium coach brought CDK on hoping that he could help his team change gears but instead he, like all the Belgian squad, put in a very disappointing performance. De Ketelaere’s 15 minutes were devoid of relevant plays and he was once again impalpable, a bit like he was at Milan in the first part of the season.
However, the Milan management have not lost faith in him and they are certain that he will soon take off, though they need concrete answers on the field.

He has low salary. Milan must be persistant with youngsters.
A flop in Milan and now in world cup too.
I say sell him to Leeds in January and use the money for better & experience player if Milan wants the second star this season.
Did you not say the same thing about Leao and Tonali?
Why he reminds me of Gianni comandini and ricardo oliveira
If the team sell him , and later develop well and be a star. We fans will be the one blaming the management. Eg paqueta he is doing well and everyone is against the management for saleing him.
He actually was the best Belgian player on the field when he came on he was way better than KDB
Did we watch the same game?
the boy is simply overrated and not as good as anticipated
Total bs take, he was given 15 min while his team was already 1-0 down, he was thrown in as a panic sub by Martinez and practically set up to fail with the way the whole team was playing. The media putting way too much pressure on this guy considering he is getting 15 – 20 minutes in any matches.
