De Ketelaere’s Club Brugge team-mate: “We all know that Milan will go to any lengths”

Club Brugge attacking midfielder Hans Vanaken believes that his team-mate Charles De Ketelaere has what it takes to make the move to AC Milan.

Milan have been repeatedly linked with a move for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder over the past few weeks, with numerous sources suggesting that the Rossoneri management are getting close to striking a deal that would be in excess of €30m for one of Belgium’s most promising talents.

De Ketelaere scoring 18 goals and added 10 assists across all competitions for Brugge and that has attracted the interest of Milan who are in the market for a player who can play as a playmaker given Brahim Diaz’s struggles last season.

Vanaken gave an interview with Belgian source Het Laaste Nieuws during which he revealed his belief that his team-mate is ready for the next step in his career, strongly hinting that it could be at Milan.

“Against Milan in the Champions League could be a nice reunion!,” Vanaken began.

“I haven’t seen Paolo Maldini here this week! But we all read [the speculation]. There are no secrets. We all know that Milan will go to any lengths to get Charles. We’re not swinging all those La Gazzetta dello Sport covers here, but we do talk some Italian to him sometimes.

“Charles is a super talent who has grown enormously here in three years. He has shown that he is ready to take the step.”
