The fall-out after the decision to postpone Bologna-Milan continues, and some news has emerged on the Lega Serie A meeting that took place yesterday.
As La Repubblica (via MilanNews) write this morning, in the end the Mayor of the city of Bologna – Matteo Lepore – won his fight and got the game postponed to a date to be determined, sparking a lot of controversy.

Milan really wanted to play the game, not just because they had prepared for it but also because they have two suspended players – Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders – who will now be forced to serve their suspension in the next match, which is the clash with league leaders Napoli.
The Rossoneri had made themselves available to play anywhere. On the other hand, Bologna did not want to take the field without their fans, who would have been penalised by the decision to play behind closed doors or at a neutral venue.
Not only that, but the match against Milan was going to be used as fundraising for the flood victims and without fans inside the stadium the proceeds would have been a lot lower.
A majority in the Lega meeting ultimately voted for the postponement, at the end of a meeting that was ‘first and foremost political’. The paper states that Claudio Lotito – the Lazio president and a historic ally of his Napoli counterpart Aurelio De Laurentiis – campaigned for the postponement.

I think you can’t see bigger nonsense than this. So, they promised the income from the match to the flood victims and it won’t be played for another 4-5 months, maybe even longer. Great fundraiser, it will help in half a year. What a bandwagon of morons, from Bologna to Serie A. What Milan should have done is organize a fundraises and Milan fans should have collected the money and donated it. People in Bologna are not to blame (at least not all) that their major is an idiot.

Everyone in Milan must be angry at this situation! And use this anger for Napoli game! We don’t have Theo and Tijjani; But the whole team rest more! Let’s see bright side! We have to get 3 points from Napoli at any price!
Figures. This was after all a plot to get us to play against Napoli without two of our main players. Now it makes more sense to understand the league’s absurd decision (the only decision that would make sense would be for the league to select a neutral venue and say to Bologna that if they didn’t show up, by rule they’d forfeit the match 0-3). Sure, it’s nice to help the flood victims with money but that’s an excuse because the money could come out of ANY subsequent game; it didn’t need to necessarily come out of the Bologna-Milan game in four months. I bet the families would appreciate the help now, not in four months.
This also shows how little political weight we have with the League. Bologna are allowed to disrespect the forfeit rules and we just have to take it, lower our heads, and lose Theo and Tijjani for the Napoli game. Great.
The only response we can have, is to beat Napoli anyway. Forza Milan. And then, beat these Bologna clowns in February with Theo and Tijjani playing.
I hope we win against Napoli, it will be great satisfaction. I hope Mr. Fonseca do everything for the win against this Napoli. I know Napoli are first in the table, but I still think we have a chance for win . They are not really best when I see then how bad game they played against Lecce today in home stadium..We will be without Teo and Tijani but it can help, because there will be more pressure and willingness for the other players for win
Yes, I watched the Napoli-Lecce game as well and they weren’t good. They barely managed a 1-0, late goal win. Their last game also ended 1-0 against Empoli.
The interesting thing about Napoli is that they are sitting pretty on top of the table but the only team in the top 10 they played so far was Juve, and they didn’t win that game (0-0). They lost to Verona, and did beat all others but they are all bottom 10 teams. So, they may be a bit overrated at this time.
It is true that except for Inter, we haven’t beaten any good team yet, but I think we can perfectly beat Napoli on Tuesday. We will be missing Theo and Tijjani but also we’ll be more rested than Napoli, because rather than having a walk in the park against Lecce, they did have to work for it.
Yes like stats are massive from the match, 24 shots and 8 on goal … but only 1 goal. Like you said only strong team was Juve and both Juve and Napoli play clear defensive match.. I think we will be sure more agresive and play attacking style like last 2 matches.. i don’t want to underrated them , but in home we are mutch stronger now like we was from start of the season, and I hope for more attacking formation. Like Morata striker and then Leao Pulisic Chuk… yes leao is out of form, but he nows how to play against Napoli and this match can be that one to wake up him. And RLC only like DM with fofana .. We are good and Napoli definitely aren’t clear winer in San Siro
