AC Milan appear to be closing in on the signing of Santiago Gimenez, as reports in the Netherlands are suggesting he might have played his last Feyenoord game.

According to De Telegraaf, there is a ‘good chance’ that Gimenez made his final appearance for Feyenoord in Lille on Wednesday evening. If Milan increase the offer that is currently on the table one more time and the transfer fee ends up between €35-40m, they will sell.

The Milan management have come closer in the past 24 hours to the total that Feyenoord chief Dennis te Kloese has in mind, but it is still not quite enough yet. The Rossoneri are co-ordinating a ‘final offer’ and have informed Gimenez and his agent Rafaela Pimenta that the deal will be done.

According to sources close to the player himself, Gimenez indicated the day after the Champions League match in France – which he came off during because of a slight physical discomfort – that he wants to leave for Milan.

The idea for Feyenoord was to keep him until the summer,  Gimenez has received so much other advice from his agent, family, Milan great Zlatan Ibrahimovic and other people in his circle that he no longer seems open to that idea. He finds the risk of saying no to another big move like he did in the summer.

Feyenoord are convinced that enough clubs will come in for him in the summer, like Bayer Leverkusen, AS Monaco and Spanish sides. At the same time, it is no longer economically responsible for them to say ‘no’ to a bid that exceeds €35m after signing him for €6m.

In Italy, Milan have also already given the signals that the transfer will be done. Gimenez is waiting for the final negotiations and so are Feyenoord, and what makes things even crazier is that Milan could also be drawn as Feyenoord’s opponents in the UCL play-off round.

        1. we actually need both. Rather equally IMHO. Reijnders and Fofana are dying indeed and right now for no reason at all because results arent coming because none of our CF can score for sht. Gotta fix one problem at a time.

  1. Our situation is very chaotic and complicated currently, of course. But as always, our beloved ‘Doom & Gloom pack’ cannot see anything calmly and objectively, as it has a BLACK visor in front of it’s very eyes.

Well, they said we wouldn’t sign fvckin ANYONE in that window. The reality of the facts is that Kyle Walker is already with us, the signing of Santiago Gimenez is practically defined, and perhaps João Felix and Patrick Wimmer could still come. Will it work, in the middle of the season? We don’t know. But it is a bold and valid bet, and as usual it undermines the catastrophist chant of these eternal whiners.

    1. They where obviously right to?? Why do you think we are desperatly signing players in january? Because the club wasnt willing to put in the investment at the start of the season. We saw this coming back then, and we where right. Abraham and Morata have not been good enough never will be. Pavlovic have been up and down still a question mark, Emerson Royal been a disaster etc. What do you want people to do?? Cheer that we are in 7th?`

    2. LMAO 😂😂😂 things are really rosy now aren’t they? I don’t know about you but this season has been quite gloomy. I don’t know what you’re seeing but it seems that doom and gloom pack was spot on in their as.sessments. you really think Walker and Jiminez or more signings for that matter will fix the problems? I don’t think you understand the root of the problems we have.
