AC Milan are working on the signing of Joe Gomez from Liverpool on transfer deadline day, and have reportedly agreed a fee.
Head coach Massimiliano Allegri appears determined to stick with a three-man defence, and with this the need to add a further central defender has emerged. After links with names like Kim Min-jae and Berat Djimsiti, Gomez is the target that has become the favourite, it seems.

According to Matteo Moretto, and agreement is close between Milan and Liverpool for Gomez, and it would be a permanent deal worth €15m in total. The Rossoneri directors are also working to finalise terms with the Englishman.
Fabrizio Romano adds: “Liverpool are pushing now to sign both Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi before Monday’s Deadline. Negotiations proceed waiting for next steps from Newcastle and Crystal Palace on fee/replacements. Joe Gomez to AC Milan also likely exit if the defender approves the move.”
In another tweet, the same journalist reports that Milan are confident they will agree terms with Liverpool for Joe Gomez. As soon as Liverpool get the deal done for Guehi he can arrive, but it all seems to depend on them securing the Palace star first before letting him go.
Gomez played the final 11 minutes of Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal on Sunday, making some important interventions to protect the lead late on and drawing widespread praise.

You clearly dont watch English football (like most of the clueless ones in here commenting). Gomez was fantastic yeasterday when he came on for Konate. Played 15 minutes and had more clearensess then anyone else and put Gyökeres in his pocket.
When Liverpool won the title during corona he was the best centerback in the League together with VVD.
His issue isnt his skills, its the injuries. If Milan lab can keep him healthy he will be great for us.
If he pass the medical then gets serioulsly injured again, then it will be a bad buy. But that remains to be seen. If he stays healthy 15 mil will be a bargain

You are right about me not watching EPL, as I only have 24 hours available a day.
But from friends and foes IRL who are either Liverpool fans or fans of other clubs in EPL, I dare to doubt this potential signing.
He is good but not a profile we need. He isn’t very experienced like you are stating here.
He was used more as 3rd or 4th centreback for past years.
But he can play as right back also, he is fast and can defend.

15m is bargain for his quality but he is no better than Tomori, except tomori isn’t same level since he was moved to right side from the left CB role.

I’m not liking what I see when it comes to some of these transfers to be honest. This is a ‘nothing’ move… he’s not worse nor better than what we have. It’s just for numbers, and him being able to fill in at RB.
I watched Arsenal and Liverpool by the way, and the way arsenal are so negative and are pragmatic, it’s not like he was Nesta 2.0 based on that cameo… Gyokeres was dead the whole game… also they had 2 DMs in the field. So I won’t use that as an audition and convince myself it’s a good transfer.
