Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future remains a mystery for the time being but one factor will have a big bearing on his decision, a report claims.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) are reporting that Milan are waiting to know the fate of Ibrahimovic given he has a contract expiring in June and there are many doubts still to be resolved. The idea of retirement scares the Swede – he said it himself – but it is a prospect to be absolutely taken into consideration.
A possible renewal for the 40-year-old will be influenced by whether Sweden make it to the Qatar World Cup. Ibrahimovic has the ambition to participate in the last major event of his career with his national team and he would almost certainly renew if they got through the play-offs against the Czech Republic and Poland.
In late spring the striker will meet with Milan to discuss the future and the parties will evaluate together what to do, in total calmness. For Zlatan, getting a Scudetto with Milan would be the sublimation of his career and Pioli obviously hopes that his leader will be able to make an important contribution between now and the end of the season.
