AC Milan will travel to Madrid this afternoon ahead of their Champions League fixture tomorrow night, and the squad will be supported by some unavailable faces.
The test against Real Madrid will be the biggest of the season for several reasons. Not only are Los Blancos one of, if not the best, team in the world currently, but they have home advantage. After all, playing at the Santiago Bernabeu is a challenge in itself.
Nevertheless, there can be no excuses tomorrow night. Milan have a job to do if they want to progress, and they must complete it. With this in mind, the group is aiming to stay compact, and they will be given a boost by two travelling teammates.
Matteo Gabbia and Alessandro Florenzi, although both injured, will be on the plane to Madrid on Monday afternoon to support their teammates and stay close to the team, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News). A move which will impress the Portuguese head coach with his focus on prioritising the team’s needs.
Additionally on the plane will be Francesco Camarda. Tammy Abraham’s current condition is not enough to guarantee minutes if needed, so the youngster will be called up. If nothing else, another positive experience for the 16-year-old.
