Di Lorenzo praises ‘great’ Milan but pledges to put things right in UCL tie

By Oliver Fisher -

Napoli defender has called AC Milan a ‘great team’ but believes that the Champions League clash will be a different story compared to last night’s league meeting.

Milan put in undoubtedly their best performance of the season right when they needed it most as they beat runaway league leaders Napoli 4-0 thanks to a brace from Rafael Leao plus goals from Brahim Diaz and Alexis Saelemaekers.

The result is absolutely huge in the scheme of Milan’s season given the poor form leading up to the game, and with Roma, Lazio, Juventus and Atalanta all winning it was imperative to produce a response that was emphatic.

Speaking on the microphones of Radio Kiss Kiss, Di Lorenzo spoke about the heavy defeat that he and his team-mates suffered, insisting things will be put right in the Champions League.

“It was a bad performance, we didn’t see the usual Napoli and now with the coach we will review the mistakes to improve in view of the next match,” he said (via SempreMilan.it).

“It will be something else, we will start on an equal footing and it will still be difficult because we have seen that Milan are a great team. We’ll have to do better to get through the round.”
