Di Marzio: AC Milan moving forward with Belgian starlet to replace Suso – the details

By Isak Möller -

Suso has officially joined Sevilla, which means that Milan will have to find a replacement for the right-hand side. By the looks of it, the Rossoneri have set their sights on a young Belgian star.

During tonight’s show on Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it), Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that Milan are moving forward with Alexis Saelemaekers for the post-Suso era. The 20-year-old currently plays for Anderlecht and his contract expires in 2022.

The player has fully embraced the Milan project, as Di Marzio continues, and his agent is waiting for the decisive phone call from Milan. In fact, they have even refused an offer from Bundesliga side Freiburg, keen on joining the Rossoneri.

In other words, it’s now up to Milan to try and persuade Anderlecht to sell the midfielder before the transfer window closes, alternatively for the summer window. However, it’s certain that Boban and Maldini have set their sights on the Saelemaekers.
