Di Marzio: Bennacer out, Kone in – late movement in midfield possible for Milan

AC Milan could be set for a busy transfer deadline day as they are still working on two potential moves for the midfield department, according to a report.

According to what is being reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Milan mercato ‘is not over yet’ and even on this the last day the directors are trying to strengthen the squad, especially in midfield.

There is still the possibility of a loan departure of Ismael Bennacer, which would open the possibility of a new reinforcement. It is not Saudi Arabia where he might end up though, because the Algerian has received interest from European clubs.

In the event of his departure, it would then be a real race against time for Milan to try to find a replacement. The favourite is Manu Kone, for whom there is strong competition from Roma which could start a real two-horse race.

It will be an intense end to the transfer window for both Roma and Milan, who have in the meantime completed the loan swap between Alexis Saelemaekers and Tammy Abraham.

Instead of being permanent deals as expected in the past couple of days, they decided to complete a simply loan swap rather than remain stuck at a stalemate.

    1. Yeah danso transfer falling through has given them the funds. We aren’t paying anything for Tammy I think its just a loan swap with Saelamaekers going the other way

  1. So we’re doing it reverse this season – buy players for 4231 and then revert to 433 in panic while having no one able to play a DM.

    1. I think that the management is far from what ACM or Cardinale expect!
They leave it till the last day of the Mercato to sign players to make a difference from making or missing out on having some sort of a competitive squad for upcoming season?
Really Moncada and Co this is your best?

      1. They are doing worse in recruitments and far far worse in amount of money spend compared to our previous directors. Second summer in a row we’ve got a bunch of players that fit in no system. But at least we got them on cheap right?

      2. They talked a good game about patience all summer. But actually they were hoping that other teams would buckle under negotiation and in the end resorted to some classic late mercato panic moves. There was no hidden 4D chess moves.

But have to give them credit for Pavlovic. And (eventually) closing the Fofana deal, hopefully they won’t take long to settle and becoming key cornerstones of the 1st XI.

  2. Mgmt going in circles is destabilizing the team. Trying to play a formation with lazy wingers like Leao will not make Milan stronger.
