Di Marzio: Considerable distance as Milan only want to pay €6m for Santos star

By Isak Möller -

Milan could add a young striker to the team this summer as Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic aren’t exactly getting any younger. Kaio Jorge seems to be the first choice, but the operation is difficult.

Yesterday, some newspapers were reporting that the Rossoneri are willing to up €10m on the table to secure the 19-year-old immediately. His contract expires in December and could thus join on a free transfer later on.

However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews), Milan aren’t willing to go that high to secure Kaio Jorge this summer. Santos are asking for €10m but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara want to pay €5-6m.

There is considerable distance between the parties, therefore, as explained by Di Marzio. It remains to be seen if they can bridge the game to reach an agreement this summer, or if Milan will have to wait until the winter.
