Di Marzio discusses ‘super season’ of Milan and praises Pioli: “It’s thanks to him”

Except for a minor roadblock at the start of the year, Milan have had a great season and will be looking to secure their spot in the Champions League this weekend. A testament to the work of Stefano Pioli and his layers.

The Rossoneri have done better than in many years and it’s clear that they are on the right path, not just for this season but also the future. The economic situation of the club is stable, the young players are growing a lot and the results are starting to show.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio had a few words of praise for this Milan side. Above all, he highlighted the work of Pioli and the way he was able to turn things around at the club.

“Milan deserve to qualify for the Champions League, perhaps they also deserve second place, given they are the best away from home. Milan paid for the absence of Ibra, the alternatives haven’t always been on the same level but the Rossoneri have had a super season.

“It’s thanks to Pioli, who gave security in difficult moments. In the good ones, furthermore, he kept the team with its feet on the ground. The manager deserves this more than anyone else,” he stated.

Provided that Atalanta win or draw against Atalanta tomorrow, then Milan will only need a win to secure their spot in the Champions League. Of course, they might not even need that as Juventus will take on Inter tomorrow evening.
